An LA-based nonprofit, GEANCO saves and transforms lives in Africa.  It organizes surgical missions and advances maternal and infant health in Nigeria.  GEANCO also donates essential resources to schools, and its David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girls provides comprehensive academic and mental health support to young female victims of terrorism and gender inequality in Nigeria.

Two hundred actors, agents, entertainment industry executives and business professionals gathered at Spectra in the Pacific Design Center for its annual Hollywood gala.  Renowned musicians James Carrington and Carmen Vandenberg opened the program with a powerful performance.  Academy Award nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor and Golden Globe nominee David Oyelowo joined GEANCO CEO Afam Onyema for a panel discussion on Nigerian, philanthropy and celebrity.  A special video featuring Academy Award nominee Benedict Cumberbatch was also shown.

The Gala raised money for GEANCO's special scholarship for young female victims of terrorism and gender inequality and its surgical missions to Nigeria.
