Planned Parenthood celebrates 40 Years of Food Fare

Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA) celebrated the 40th Anniversary of their highly anticipated culinary event and largest annual fundraiser, PPLA Food Fare. Guests of the beloved event gathered to celebrate the 40th Anniversary and enjoy hundreds of gourmet food and drink samples from Southern California’s best restaurants, caterers and libation purveyors all in support of Planned Parenthood Los Angeles (PPLA).

Food Fare Host Committee Members and proud supporters of PPLA Ali Larter, Annabeth Gish, Felicity Huffman, Fred Armisen, KaDee Strickland, Natasha Rothwell, along with more than 2,000 Angelenos joined Sue Dunlap (PPLA, CEO & President) to raise $1.3 million with proceeds benefiting its vital health care and education programs.

Food Fare reaching its 40th year is a huge milestone and statement about the vital role of Planned Parenthood health centers and education programs in communities throughout Los Angeles County. I’m always so inspired by the dedication of our volunteers who organize this spectacular affair each year. I’m proud to be part of an event that brings together supporters of women’s health while showcasing Los Angeles’ diverse and vibrant food communities.

Food Fare attendees shopped from local on-site vendors, and participated in dozens of raffles and auctions including the popular silent wine and spirits auction, featuring collectable vintages, unique vertical collections and large format bottles. Raffle and auction prizes included exclusive and unique entertainment and culinary experiences, dream vacations, and private dinner parties at renowned Los Angeles restaurants.

What originally started as a small cooking demonstration in 1979 by culinary icon Julia Child has now grown into a renowned event bringing together the best of Los Angeles’ global food culture and has become PPLA’s largest fundraising event of the year. For 40 years, PPLA has raised essential funds through Food Fare to provide affordable, non-judgmental, and confidential reproductive health care services to communities throughout Los Angeles County.

Food Fare is organized and hosted by the Planned Parenthood Los Angeles Guild, a group of over 180 members dedicated to providing financial and volunteer support for PPLA.
