Los Olivos’ The Bear and Star, serving “Refined Ranch Cuisine” inspired by the Parker family heritage, launches FOOD FOR THOUGHT, an intimate dinner party series celebrating the connection between food and mind. The series invites modern innovators, from inventors to artists to musicians, to experience Los Olivos and share their journey with the community, illustrating the deep connection between the culinary and creative arts. The two-part introductory event includes an art reception for Tommy May and Gwen O’Neil of Grey Projects LA at Epiphany Cellars on Friday, October 12, 2018, followed by a Gala Dinner at The Bear and Star on Saturday, October 13, 2018. The Gala features a five-course tasting dinner staged at The Bear and Star showcasing products raised on the Parker Ranch and influenced by the drive from Los Angeles to Los Olivos.

The Open House Reception at Epiphany Cellars on Friday, October 12, 2018, is from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. with an exhibition Tommy May and Gwen O’Neil works. Glasses of Fesstivity sparkling wine will be available for purchase along with classic bites from The Bear and Star’s 35’ Custom Texas Smoker to be enjoyed on the well-appointed patio with music by the Epiphany Pipes. Pricing is á la carte and the reception is open to the public.

On Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 6:00 p.m., The Bear and Star presents the Food for Thought Gala Dinner.  Guests gather on the back patio with glasses of Fesstivity with a background of music before dinner in The Bear and Star’s Garden Terrace. The five-course dinner is the thoughtfully planned collaboration between Chef John Cox, Tommy May and Gwen O’Neil and designed to evoke their art through the composition, flavors and palette of the beautifully composed plates.
