5 skincare products you need for a city vacation
If you decided to vacation in a city instead of the beach, the scenery isn't going to be the only thing that's different about your upcoming trip. Travelers often overlook the need to take care of their skin when packing for a city vacation. Someone might think, "I'm not on a beach, I don't need to pack sunscreen, right?" Wrong—you just need different products. If you're jetting off to Paris, London, New York City, or other urban areas, don't forget to pack these five things to help keep your face looking fresh.
1. Sunscreen
Before you pack anything else, pack sunscreen. The need for sun protection doesn't stop with a coastline—you need just as much sunscreen for sightseeing in the city. To keep your bag light, choose multi-use products like an SPF day moisturizer, an all-in-one BB cream, or loose powder containing SPF protection.
2. Moisturizing Cream
Cities mean more people, which means more pollution—but you can stave off the harmful effects by packing moisturizer, which helps minimize breakouts. Not only does it hydrate your skin, it also helps create a barrier protecting your face from the pollution, preventing breakouts and blackheads.
3. Serum
Plenty of people skimp on serum because it's not an all-in-one product, but it may be one of the most important products to add to your skincare regimen. Whether it's an anti-aging serum or one that helps correct your skin tone, these treasured bottles usually contain more antioxidants than any of your other products. It's lightweight and when used daily after cleansing, you'll see noticeable results in a matter of weeks.
4. Face wipes
These easy-to-use wipes will come in handy in more ways than just one. When you're constantly on the go, hopping from taxi to terrace—or if you're getting home after a long night—these make removing the day's dirt a snap. Pack makeup remover wipes for the late nights, or radiance-boosting face wipes to cleanse, brighten, and soothe your mug throughout the day.
5. Face cleanser
You can probably get by using the hotel's body lotion and maybe even shampoo, but it's important to bring your preferred face wash with you. Squeeze a bit of your go-to cleanser in travel-friendly containers; we recommend a frothy cleanser that will sweep all the dirt and oil off your face, and leave it fresh and comfortable.
